On June 9, a series of cultural activities with the theme of "Fragrant Zongzi (a conically shaped dragon boat festival delicacy-by translator ) And Strong Patriotism" , sponsored by the Publicity Department and the Department Of Student Work and organized by the CPC General Branch of the College of Humanities and Arts, were held in the Room B217 of the main teaching building and Rongyuan commercial street. The event was attended by more than 300 people including those from the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee, CPC General Branch of the College of Humanities and Arts and faculty and student representatives of the university.
Students majoring in Chinese language and literature dressed in traditional Hanfu costumes recited poems such as Ode to Qu Yuan and Lisao (an epic masterpiece by the great poet Qu Yuan ) to pay homage to and honor the memory of Qu Yuan with both voice and emotion. They sang songs such as “Farewell” which portray the sad thoughts of parting. These are interspersed with cultural knowledge and poetry quizzes relating to Dragon Boat Festival. Through the vivid and interesting activities, the students will have an even deeper appreciation of the Dragon Boat Festival culture.
