On the afternoon of December 18, the Latin American Research Center and the College of foreign languages jointly held the "2019 Spanish culture knowledge competition of Chongqing University of science and technology" in the foreign language experimental teaching center b403, the main teaching building, in which more than 80 students from all majors and overseas students participated. The contest is conducted online. The questions are carefully prepared by the Spanish Department of the College of foreign languages of our university, covering the history, culture, geography, art, literature and other aspects of the Spanish speaking countries. After 90 minutes of fierce competition, this competition has won 4 first prizes, 12 second prizes and 21 third prizes.

It is reported that in order to pay attention to the cultivation of students' humanistic quality, expand students' international vision, and promote the improvement of students' cross-cultural communication ability, Latin American Research Center and Foreign Language Institute jointly organized the first western language national cultural knowledge competition of Chongqing University of science and technology, and organized corresponding training work before the competition. The Latin American Research Center and the College of foreign languages hope to let more students know about Spain and Latin America through such activities, so as to better promote the construction of Latin American Research Center and Spanish major of our university.
