In the afternoon of October 29, Xiao Xuewen, the chairman of CISDI Group CO., LTD., make a visit to our university. The ceremony for the appointment of Xiao Xuewen as Distinguished Professor was held in the lecture hall. Nearly 400 representatives were present, including officials of CISDI, President Yin Huachuan, Vice President Xiao Dazhi, department heads, and representative faculty and students from theSchool of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering attended the ceremony. Xiao Dazhi presided over the meeting.

At the ceremony, Mr. Yin Huachuan, on behalf of the university, presented Xiao Xuewen with a letter of appointment as a distinguished professor. Mr. Xiao said that it he was very honored to be employed as a member of Chongqing University of Science and Technology, and he would continue to promote the win-win cooperation between CQUST and CISDI Group CO., LTD. After the ceremony, Mr. Xiao gave a report entitled ‘Future Development Trend of Steel’ for students and teachers present. In the report, Mr. Xiao gave a detailed introduction to the development of CISDI Group CO., LTD., the development of steel industry, trends of steel industry home and abroad, technical barriers, future new materials and new manufacturing methods He pointed out that the future development trend of steel industry would be ‘intelligent, informational and environmentally-friendly’,leading the frontier of the steel industry and technological changes. After the presentation, Mr. Xiao had an interactive session with the students and teachers at the ceremony.
