On April 23, the school held the first Academic Discipline Development Conference in the undergraduate education history of the university. Chen Yu, Office Director of Chongqing Academic Degrees Committee, Li Delong, Secretary of the university Party Committee, Zhao Mingjie, CQUST president and other leaders attended the conference. More than 2,400 faculty, staff and student representatives also attended the conference. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university Gan Qin presided over the meeting.

Li Delong, secretary of the Party committee , made a speech entitled "Create New Atmosphere, Showing New Actions, Building New CQUST and Striving to Scale a New Height of High-quality Development."

President Zhao Mingjie gave a keynote speech at the conference titled "Opening up New Ground to Build High Altitude and Climb New Peaks, High Quality Promotion of the Construction of China's First Class Applied Science and Technology University with Distinctive Characteristics", which comprehensively summarized the achievements of the university's endeavors at academic discipline development.

Unconventional oil and gas development theory and technology team and other 10 excellent discipline team received commendations. Zhao Mingjie signed a target task agreements with the deans of the five doctorate development programs.

At The conference were released a series of documents such as "Opinions of the CQUST Party Committee and Executive Branch on Further Strengthening Discipline Construction." After the conference, all departments and colleges will organize seminars on discipline development respectively to further clarify the objectives , refine the measures , comprehensively promote the high-quality development of disciplines, and strive to score new achievements on the new journey of building a first-class application-oriented university of science and technology.
