The Internal Trial Competition in Chongqing University of Science and Technology 2023 "FTRP·ETIC Cup" National College English Public Speaking Contest (Chongqing Division) as well as "Vital Cup" English Speech Contest were held on April 26.

This event is sponsored by the School of Foreign Languages and co-sponsored by the Vital English Association. The total number of candidates was 50. The competition is divided into non-English major undergraduate group, English major group and graduate student group. There were preliminary and final rounds, where in the preliminary stage there was a 3-minute set topic speech titled "My Interpretation of Civilization" and the final round is a 2-minute impromptu speech. After scoring by judges , each group awarded the grand prize, first prize, second prize, third prize and participant prize. The top three contestants of each group will participate in the university's English speech training group, which will be organized by instructors to prepare for two national A-level competitions in Chongqing.
