"From March 24 to 26,2023, the final of the 13th National College Students Mathematics Competition was held in East China Normal University, and Liu Benqiang, a student of our university, won the first prize of non-mathematics major group."
The National College Mathematics Competition is sponsored by the Chinese Mathematical Society and is a national high-level subject competition for undergraduates. It is one of the subject competitions with the largest participation scale, the widest influence and the largest number of participants in colleges and universities in China. A total of 218,823 people from 32 conferences across the country signed up for the preliminary contest, from which 748 people were selected to enter the final, with 732 actual participants, including 350 non-mathematics majors. 29 candidates were selected in Chongqing to participate in the final, including 15 non-math group, respectively from CQUST, Southwest University, Chongqing University and Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and finally Chongqing won 1 first prize, 6 second prizes and 4 third prizes in the non-math group competition. Liu Benqiang, a student of our university, won the first prize in the final, which is the first time that our student won the national first prize in this event.
It is understood that Liu Benqiang will also represent Chongqing in April-May this year to participate in the 14th National College Students Mathematics Competition Final in Guangdong University of Technology .
