On the morning of January 7, Tongliang District held a centralized groudbreaking ceremony for the construction project of Tongliang University Park. The first batch of universities in the park that broke ground included Chongqing University of Science and Technology , Chongqing University of Education, and Chongqing Medical and Pharmaceutical College. Invited to event were Li DeLong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, Shi Jinliang, Deputy Secretary and Vice President, and heads of relevant departments of the university.

It is reported that the Tongliang campus project of our university covers a total area of about 1500 mu, with a total construction area of about 500000 square meters and a total investment of approximately 5 billion Yuan. Among them, the first phase of the project involves the construction of 270000 square meters, and the second phase 230000 square meters, and about 20000 students can be housed after completion of both. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the university will，under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, seize the strategic opportunities presented by the development of the western region in the new era and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle,by accelerating the completion of Tongliang new campus as soon as possible.
