On May 28, the Sixth National Well-logging Skills Contest for College Students and the first National Well-Logging Teaching Skills Contest for Young Teachers came to an end in China University of Petroleum (Beijing). After fierce competition, our university won 6 awards, including 1 group first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize, 1 best professional knowledge award, 1 second prize in the Teaching Skills Contest and 1 excellent instructor award. These represented the best performance CQUST has achieved since participating in this contest in 2018.
The National Well-logging Skills Contest for College Students is an important annual event for scientific and technological pursuits of Chinese well-logging students. The competition aims to foster and improve students' ability to solve complex logging engineering problems, and cultivate geophysical exploration engineers equipped with practical skills and teamwork spirit who meet the needs of social development. With the theme of "Promoting Learning And Teaching Through Competition", this contest saw the participation of 17 colleges and universities, including China University of Petroleum (Beijing), China University of Petroleum (East China), China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Northwest University and Jilin University. After several rounds of selection in each sub division, a total of 37 national teams and 148 students eventually attended the final.
