In the afternoon of April 20, the Seminar on the Construction of the National Key Laboratory of Unconventional Oil and Gas Development (Proposed) was held in Chongqing University of Science and Technology. Zhou Shouwei, the vice president of China Association for Science and Technology, the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the distinguished professor of CQUST and the director of Academic Committee of National Key Laboratory of Unconventional Oil and Gas Development (Proposed), attended and presided over the conference.

Academician Zhou Shouwei gave the recognition to the preliminary construction work and research situation of CQUST’s National Key Laboratory of Unconventional Oil and Gas Development (Proposed). Academician Zhou Shouwei noted that we should seize the historical opportunity, actively respond to the national strategies such as ‘Energy Security and the Construction of Twin-City Economic Circle in Chengdu-Chongqing Region’, etc., actively carry out the construction tasks of the laboratory, and have the conditions for the declaration of the National Key Laboratory jointly built by the province and the ministry at the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan; We should establish a strategic alliance for collaborative innovation, and establish an innovative strategic alliance with major domestic unconventional oil and gas development institutes, and oil and gas field enterprises, making full use of their respective advantages, integrating relevant resources, and making joint efforts to solve technical problems in unconventional oil and gas development. We should do a good job of organizing the organization, set up a special institute for unconventional oil and gas development, and complete the preparation of the laboratory construction program as soon as possible.
