Recently, the national safety production industry standard "Safety Technical Specification for Well Control of Shale Gas Drilling" and "Safety Technical Specification for Independent Pressurized Workover of Shale Gas Well to Raise and Lower the Tubular Column", developed under the leadership of Professor Liu Hong's team from the School of Safety Engineering (School of Emergency Management), were officially announced for implementation by the Ministry of Emergency Management.

According to the national safety development needs and following the actual shale gas development, Professor Liu Hong's team from the School of Safety Engineering (School of Emergency Management) developed these two standards in cooperation with well-known companies in the field of shale gas development in China such as Sinopec Chongqing Fuling Shale Gas Exploration and Development Company Co., Ltd., Sinopec Jianghan Oilfield Company Co., Ltd., Sinopec Shengli Petroleum Engineering Company Co., Ltd., and Chuanqing Exploratory Drilling Engineering Co.,Ltd. This is the first time in China to promulgate industry standards for safety production in the field of shale gas, which fills the gap in this field in China and is of great significance to promote the efficient and safe development of shale gas in China.
