On the evening of October 21st, an opening ceremony for undergraduates of class 2020 was held in the gym and attended by top-tier management from the university,heads of functional departments and schools, full-time and part-time counselors, as well as all new undergraduates.
The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem. Thereafter, Mr Li Delong delivered an inspiring speech entitledCommit Devoutly to Your Choice and Treat Seriously the Nine Things in Life.
The ceremony was hosted by Deputy Party Secretary,Vice President Shi Jinliang. Vice President Xiao Dazhi announced the list of CQUST Freshman Scholarship.
Speeches were also given by two faculty representatives ,Zhang Qianying(upper left)from School of Metallurgy and Materiaal Engineering,and Dean Xiong Wei of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, a senior representative Li Zhenqing from School of Humanities and Arts(lower left),and a freshman representative Wang Taoyi of School of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering.
In the presence of management and faculty, undergraduates of class 2020 put on their school badges, marking their official transition to the membership of CQUST.The ceremony ended up with the chorusOde to the Motherland.
A wonderful welcome party for the freshman was held before the opening ceremony. Students and teachers all waved their flags enthusiastically to the melodies of classic songs and members of the campus art troupe gave splendid performances such as cheerleading dance, singing medley , break dancing, and so on, providing all present with a feast for their eyes and ears.
